Switch/socket repair & replacement

5.0(1)Rated 5.0 out of 5 from 1 reviewsTakes about 30 min

A switch that needs a hard press, a socket that sparks when you plug in, or a point that has gone dead is usually a loose terminal or a worn part. The electrician switches off the circuit, opens the plate, tightens or replaces the switch or socket and checks the earth before closing it up.

The price shown on this page is the starting price for one simple switch or socket. If the board behind it is burnt or the wire is damaged, the electrician shows you and quotes the extra work first. A new switch or socket is quoted as a spare and fitted only after you agree.

The job usually takes about 30 minutes. Point out every faulty switch in the house at the start so they can be looked at in one visit.

Questions about this service

My socket sparks when I plug something in. Is that dangerous?

It usually means a loose or burnt contact, which can heat up. Stop using that socket and book a visit so the electrician can fix it.

Are spare parts included in the price?

No. If a part or material is needed, the electrician quotes it and fits it only after you agree.

What if the problem comes back?

If the work done stops working within 30 days, we come back and fix it at no charge.

How soon can an electrician come?

The earliest slot is 30 minutes from now, and you can book up to 3 days ahead, in working hours. You get the electrician's name before the visit.
