Plug replacement: modular switchboard with switches and round-pin sockets on a dark wall
Electrician30-day warranty included

Plug replacement

Takes about 15 min

A plug top that is cracked, wobbles in the socket or gets warm when the appliance runs is worth replacing before it damages the socket. The electrician cuts back the cable to clean wire, fits a new plug top with the live, neutral and earth in the right pins, and secures the cable grip so the wires cannot pull loose.

From the price shown on this page, you get one plug. The new plug top is a spare, quoted before fitting, or you can keep one ready of the right rating, 6A for small appliances and 16A for heavy ones like a geyser or AC.

It takes about 15 minutes, so it is worth adding other small jobs to the same visit.

Questions about this service

Which plug do I need, 6A or 16A?

Small appliances like a mixer or lamp use 6A. Heavy loads like a geyser, iron or AC use 16A. The electrician confirms on the visit.

Can you replace more than one plug in the visit?

Yes. Tell the electrician at the start, and each extra plug is added at the price shown.

Are spare parts included in the price?

No. If a part or material is needed, the electrician quotes it and fits it only after you agree.

What if the problem comes back?

If the work done stops working within 30 days, we come back and fix it at no charge.
