MCB/fuse repair: gloved hands testing a panel with a tester
Electrician30-day warranty included

MCB/fuse repair

Takes about 1 hr

An MCB that trips again and again is doing its job. Something on that circuit is overloaded or shorted. If it is the RCCB that trips, current is leaking to earth. The electrician checks which MCB trips and when, isolates the appliances and points on that circuit one by one, and finds the fault, then repairs the connection or the faulty point.

The price shown on this page is the starting price for tracing and fixing a simple fault. If the MCB itself has failed, a replacement is quoted before fitting. Faults inside an appliance are pointed out so you can get it serviced.

Note which MCB trips and what was switched on at the time. Keep a torch handy if the power is out in part of the home.

Questions about this service

Why does my MCB keep tripping?

Usually an overload, a short in a wire or point, or a faulty appliance. The electrician tests the circuit to find which.

Can I just replace the MCB?

Replacing it will not help if the fault is on the circuit. The cause is found first.

Are spare parts included in the price?

No. If a part or material is needed, the electrician quotes it and fits it only after you agree.

What if the problem comes back?

If the work done stops working within 30 days, we come back and fix it at no charge.
