Study table assembly: study table with chair and floor lamp

Study table assembly

Takes about 2 hr

Study tables often come with a hutch, a keyboard tray or a drawer unit, and each needs to line up with the desk top. The carpenter builds the frame, fixes the top, fits drawer channels and shelves, and adjusts the levelling feet so the table does not rock on your floor. If the design has a wall tie-back, it can be fixed to the wall with your go-ahead.

Plan for about two hours, from the price shown on this page.

Keep the boxes where the table will stand, check the space against the table width, and clear the wall behind if it is going against one. Tell the carpenter if a child will use it, so the wall tie is not skipped.

Questions about this service

Should my study table be fixed to the wall?

If it has a tall hutch or a child will climb near it, yes. The carpenter fixes the supplied tie-back once you agree.

Can the carpenter assemble furniture from any brand?

Yes, as long as the maker's instructions and fittings are in the box. That covers flat-pack furniture from any retailer.

The table rocks on my floor. Can that be fixed?

Most kits have adjustable feet, which the carpenter sets. If yours has none, they can suggest a simple fix and tell you if it costs extra.
