Drawer & cabinet: hand opening a kitchen drawer
Carpenter30-day warranty included

Drawer & cabinet

Takes about 15 min

Kitchen cabinets often hold heavy steel and cast iron, which drags channels down and loosens hinges faster than anywhere else. The carpenter pulls each problem drawer, cleans grease and grit from the channels, refixes or replaces them, and then resets the cabinet hinges so the shutters close in a straight line. Basket drawers and tandem boxes you have the parts for can be refitted too.

The starting job takes about 15 minutes, from the price shown on this page. Additional units are priced before work.

Empty the drawers and cabinets involved and keep any replacement channels or hinges ready.

Questions about this service

Why do my kitchen drawers get stuck?

Grease and food grit build up on the channels, and heavy utensils bend them over time. Cleaning and refixing usually solves it; a bent channel needs replacing.

Can you fix the board under my sink that has swollen?

Water-swollen board cannot be repaired by tightening. The carpenter tells you if it needs replacing and what that would involve.

Do you supply the channels?

No. You buy them, or the carpenter picks them up locally at actual cost with your approval.
