How the visit goes

Open the trap
A bucket goes under the basin and the bottle trap is unscrewed and emptied.

Clear the line
The trap and grate are cleaned, and an auger is run into the wall pipe if the line is slow.

Refit and seal
The trap goes back with good washers and is tightened by hand.

Full basin test
The basin is filled and drained to confirm fast flow and dry joints.

Questions about this service
Should I use a drain cleaner first?
Please do not. It can splash on the plumber when the trap is opened and does little to hair clogs.
How do I stop it blocking again?
A small hair catcher on the waste and a kettle of hot water down the drain now and then help a lot.
What if the floor drain is blocked too?
Then the blockage is likely further down the line. The plumber checks and quotes drain blockage removal before starting.
