Find the air leak
Suction joints and the foot valve are checked, since air got in somewhere.

The motor is restarted and run until steady water reaches the tank.
What we need from you
- Motor switched off if it runs without lifting water
- A bucket of water near the motor
- Access to the sump or suction pipe
Questions about this service
Why does my motor keep getting air locked?
Usually a leaking suction joint or a worn foot valve lets air in. The plumber checks both after clearing the lock.
Is it safe to keep running the motor?
No. Running dry can overheat and damage the pump. Switch it off until the air is cleared.
What if the motor still does not lift water?
If the pipes are sound, the fault may be electrical or inside the motor, which needs a motor mechanic.
